Dear Friend,
You know I’ll do just about anything in the name of Mental Health Awareness. On April 29, you can join me in my latest caper to call attention to the cause while I push my creative boundaries. This is a chance to get together with other people (within safety guidelines) and contribute a few bucks to the West Bergen Mental Healthcare’s Center for Children & Youth in Ramsey.
Along with about 23 of my closest friends, I’ll be painting something fabulous at Board & Brush Creative Studio. You’ll get to pick your project when you sign up, and the options are plentiful: seasonal décor, family nameplates, inspiring signage and other indoor and outdoor art-in-waiting. Unless the weather is having a bad day, we’ll be able to enjoy light food and BYOBs outside.
How to get in on this fun-filled, invite-only DIY Workshop:
1. Register and make your payment through West Bergen’s event sign-up form. The $99 cost includes your choice of wood project and all the paint, stain, brushes and guidance to transform it into a great work of art. The fun is free, and West Bergen will get a share of event proceeds. Share the sign-up info with friends who crave a night out; everyone must register by April 25.
2. Your emailed registration receipt will include an access code for the Board & Brush website full of project choices. Reserve the one you want, and the workshop will give you step-by-step instructions for creating a beautiful piece for your own home or for a thoughtful gift.

All participants must wear face masks inside.
A night out might be just the thing you need to kick off May, aka pandemic month no. 15, aka Mental Health Awareness Month. In addition, you’ll be giving a boost to the Center for Children & Youth, which provides a variety of outpatient services to meet important needs in our community.
I hope to paint with you on April 29. Remember, “Every day is a good day when you paint.”
