We are pleased to announce that at Tuesday night’s Board of Education meeting Dr. Marc Biunno was appointed to be the next Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment for the Ramsey School District. He will assume the role on January 1, 2023.
There were 87 applicants and after three rounds of interviews, Dr. Biunno stood out as the best candidate to continue our work in Ramsey while providing a skill set and outside perspective that can take our academic program to the next level.
Some of Dr. Biunno’s experiences and qualifications:
- Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Seton Hall University in 2019
- Principal of McKinley School in Westfield since 2012
- District Coordinator of Elementary School Principals in Westfield
- Assistant Principal of Hillside School (K-8) in Cranford from 2010-2012
- Teacher of Grade 8 English Language Arts in Westfield from 2003-2010
When asked what motivated him to apply for the position of Director of Curriculum in Ramsey, Dr. Biunno said, “I was very happy in Westfield and wasn’t looking to move. But when I saw the posting for Ramsey come up, I knew that I had to take a shot. There are not many opportunities to join a school district as highly regarded throughout the state as Ramsey. I am humbled by the opportunity to join a district that is so focused on students and their experience.”
Biunno then added, “During the rigorous yet thoughtful interview process, I’ve come to know Ramsey as a place with a supportive community, a talented and hard-working faculty, and a skilled leadership team. I am ready to work hard, to join the team of dedicated professionals here, and continue working toward the educational vision that has been set out by the Ramsey community.”
