2020 – 2021 Budget

On April 28 the Board of Education adopted the preliminary 2020-2021 School Budget. The budget reflects our commitment to providing a comprehensive education to the students of Ramsey.

The budget keeps core programs intact, continues our emphasis on language arts literacy, mathematics, and critical thinking, allows for optimal class size, keeps current staffing levels, provides for focused professional development, and continues to maintain facilities that maximize educational learning. Specifically, this budget supports the following additional staff:

  • Mental Health Counselor (s) at Hubbard and Tisdale Schools
  • Kindergarten teachers (previously approved by community vote in November 2019)
  • Art Teacher (previously approved by community vote in November 2019)
  • Part-Time Security Personnel
  • Additional coaches for boys and girls lacrosse, girls basketball, and ice hockey

The District is slated to receive $2,043,826 of state aid for the 2020-2021 school year. The general fund tax levy increased 2.75% over last year which equates to an increase for the average homeowner of $1.30 a day, or $39 a month, or $470 a year. It is important to remember that this budget tax levy is inclusive of the new referendum bonds and debt service aid for 2018 AND the 2019 Kindergarten Budget Vote. Also, keep in mind that this budget includes the debt service for Dater School that will be fully paid in just over 3 years when we will see a tax reduction of $255 for the average assessed home.

By working together we have been able to maintain our successful programs and control costs, yet still develop an instructional vision for the future.
