Happy Thanksgiving, Matthew Murphy, Ramsey, Superintendent

To Students, Parents, Staff and other Friends of Ramsey School District:

As we roll toward the Thanksgiving and December holiday breaks, I wish you and your family a happy Thanksgiving. Of course, 2020 has not been the year we hoped for. But I came across this quote that reflects part of what I feel:

This is not the year to get everything you want.

This is the year to appreciate everything you have.

Many of us won’t be able to spend Thanksgiving with loved ones due to safety precautions. However, I invite you to send me a picture of any Thanksgiving exchanges that take place via video, so I can share them with our community! Now more than ever, we should use our social media channels to promote togetherness however it happens.

I don’t know what 2021 looks like (and I want to see the terms and conditions before I sign on), but I do know that we’ll do what we do best: tackle it with our eyes wide open, full of determination and dashes of the humanity and dignity that our students — and community — deserve.

THANK YOU for being a part of the accomplished, inspiring district that is Ramsey. The many things we have in common unite us much more than any differences divide us! May you not overeat (or at least save room for dessert), and please be sure to enjoy this time with your family and friends and also make some time for yourself!

Yours faithfully,

Matthew J. Murphy, Ed.D.
